Again, I ask you to pray dear faithful friends.

Four very simple prayer requests;

for my aunt Correne and her family as she mourns the loss of her sister to cancer

for my aunt Patty as she applies for another research study for her cancer and for safe travel for those of us who will be visiting her

for my friend Joann and her family as she continues to struggle with illness and pain

for my dear friend Sarah and her family who are loving a baby very much and hoping God's plan for them includes him

Lord, I pray for my friends and family just as your Word tells me to pray, for healing. I believe you hear this earnest prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you, Lord, to heal my friends, but I also trust in the plan you have for their life.

Lord, I don't always understand your ways. I don't know why we have to suffer, but I trust You. I ask that You look with mercy and grace toward us. Nourish our spirits and souls in this time of suffering and comfort all of us with Your presence.

Let everyone know You are here with us through this difficulty. Give us strength. And may You, through this difficulty, be glorified in their lives and also in mine.

Amen

prayer requests

I believe in the power of prayer. I KNOW He hears them and answers them. The hard part for us is the understanding (come Holy Spirit) and accepting of His answer.

Friends, if you have time this week for prayer could you please include my sister in law who is getting an MRI on Tuesday? She has some interesting labs and is hoping the scan will answer some questions her doctor has about her numbers. Also, Ryan's teammate is having surgery on Tuesday. Sometimes being a kid at heart just isn't enough. He plays hard and never gives less than 200% during a game. He injured his shoulder and needs surgery to repair it. Please pray for the doctors and technicians and for the patients to get answers and heal quickly and without (too much) pain and suffering.

Thank you prayer warriors :)
Amen.

Finally Friday again

Well, the whole weaning from the internet has gone better than expected. I try to log on once a day to do my "business" and then get off and on with my life. It has been difficult but bearable.

You would think I would be a little more 'present' in my daily life because I am not on the laptop all day but actually, get this, I feel disconnected. I feel like I am not in the know and sort of marooned on Gordon family island. The internet is my connection with the world. It's not always a good connection but the communication is open none the less.

So, my Bible has been the replacement for the loss of surfing. It is going well. This regular old book of Genesis has some pretty amazing historical implications. Moses really knows his stuff. Satan attacks Genesis quite fervently so that alone tells you there is some solid stuff in there... I am still studying but it is a wonderful lesson. I am using the book What the Bible is all about by Dr.Henrietta C. Mears. My brother gave it to me for Christmas.

Keep my father in law in your prayers this week, please. He had gallbladder surgery. He is at home recovering. I hope it goes quickly for him.

Have a wonderful weekend. Monday will be here before you know it.
